Waiting for delicious tea and scrumptious tidbits is so hard but opening a restaurant, especially a fine restaurant, is frustratingly slow.
6/6 The community has been so supportive — thank you for the calls and inquiries! I can’t explain how much it means. I believe all of the repairs have been made. We have been testing and retesting the fire protections and, by george, I think we’ve got it! Safety first.
We have three inspections (fingers crossed) and then a brief move-in and decorating period so your experience is beyond imagination, immersive, and exquisitely memorable. Please send us good thoughts for smooth sailing from here on out.
5/1 We were SO close. Hit a hiccup with the ventilation system which is causing more delays. I am beyond sad about this news. I was all set to start hiring and testing the reservation system. Hang in there (I say to myself and all the Cuppa fans out there).
4/25 Equipment has gone missing. Equipment has been back ordered but everything is finally installed. The painting is finished. We only need a few touch ups here and there especially as some of the more decorate elements go in. It feels more like the tea room I dreamed of years ago; more mine. This week we will have the fire suppression recalibrated to our needs and have the whole site power cleaned (finally – it was pretty gross) and I am going to finish all of the HR stuff so I can start hiring in two weeks!
The contracting crew has been very efficient and I have a team of people ready to help move furniture in once all of the inspections are done -building, fire marshal, health department. Honestly, at this point getting all the tea here on time is going to be the trickiest part, timing-wise.
If anyone would like to be a part of the reservation system practice sessions please send us a message through our contact form. Hopefully, this will also add you to a mailing list before we officially set that up.
Thank you for your patience. Truly, your cuppa waits!
